Cathay Pacific’s new cabin designs go on show at IFC Mall 2

June 2008 Cathay Pacific Airways today launched a roadshow that gives the Hong Kong public the chance to take a close-up look at the seats and other features from the airline’s new three-class cabin designs.

The roadshow, held in the Oval Atrium at Level 1 of the IFC Mall, is designed to show how the new cabins are taking the passenger inflight experience to new heights.

Visitors to the roadshow, which is open every day from 11am to 9pm through to Monday, 9 June, can try out the seats and get the chance to sample the state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system, which offers audio and visual on demand in all three cabins with a huge selection of movies, TV shows, radio channels and CDs.

The public can enjoy a virtual tour, also available at www.cathaypacific.com/experience, takes a tour of the new aircraft interior in astonishing detail. Visitors can walk through the cabins, stopping to enjoy all the features in each class, and take a virtual flight simulator ride, with real Cathay Pacific pilots at the controls and a choice of destinations in which to land.

There’s also a great competition with the unique opportunity to win a simulator ride at Cathay Pacific’s Flight Training Centre.

In the new-design First Class cabin, passengers can enjoy luxurious suites that guarantee the utmost level of comfort.

Designed with exacting attention to detail, the interior maximises personal space, relaxation and convenience. Special panelling also ensures the new seats provide maximum comfort in every position.

Passengers in the new Business Class cabin can enjoy a fully flat bed with a one-button command that helps to truly redefine long-haul travel. The seat, which features enhanced privacy, can easily be adjusted to suit the needs of every passenger.

The new “herringbone” seating configuration allows unrestricted aisle access from each seat.

In Economy Class, the new fixed and uniquely contoured design of the seat protects the personal space of passengers, allowing a passenger to recline without intruding on passengers seated behind.

The exclusive LEAP Live Back™ feature uses office chair technology to provide active support of the spine in all positions. The new cabin designs now feature on 24 Cathay Pacific aircraft flying on key routes to North America, Europe and Australia.

The cabins are being retrofitted on Cathay Pacific’s existing medium- and long-haul aircraft and will be fitted in all new additions to the passenger fleet. By 2012 the cabins will feature on a total of 86 aircraft.
