All the Sky's a Stage August 13, 2007 United Airlines and The Joffrey Ballet Announce Official and Exclusive Airline Partnership for 2007-2008 Season

CHICAGO (August 13, 2007) - The skies of United Airlines will enjoy a unique flying partner this year, as Chicago's hometown airline and The Joffrey Ballet leap together onto the city's cultural stage.

United will serve as the official and exclusive airline of the world-class ballet company for the 2007-2008 season, providing travel services that enable the company to tour the world in style and comfort.

"We are delighted to fly a true gem of Chicago's arts community to cities around the world," said Rosemary Moore, United's senior vice president of Corporate and Government Affairs and a board member of The Joffrey Ballet. "With United’s support, The Joffrey Ballet will comfortably fly around the world and provide our customers with a taste of what this world-class ballet has to offer.”

"This partnership brings together two of the world's most innovative brands," said Jon Teeuwissen, executive director of The Joffrey Ballet. "United and Joffrey are both synonymous with unparalleled quality and commitment to excellence. We are thrilled to be joining together with our hometown airline."

This partnership comes at an exciting time for The Joffrey Ballet, as the company has just concluded its two-year 50th anniversary celebration. In the upcoming season, it will join United in establishing a home in downtown Chicago -- the ballet's first permanent location.

In early 2008, The Joffrey Ballet will take possession of some 45,000 square feet in the Joffrey Tower, a new Smithfield Properties development at 8 E. Randolph. The building will serve as a permanent location for the city's most compelling dance company, giving rise to the artists of tomorrow through training, mentoring and educating young audiences and dancers.
