Request By American Airlines To Amend China Application Is In The Public Interest And Consistent With U.S. DOT Precedent WASHINGTON, D.C. – American Airlines today issued the following statement: “Granting American’s motion to amend its Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, to Beijing, China, application to allow the flexibility to stop in Chicago in the outbound direction would be consistent with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) precedent, which favors consideration of the best and most current information available in reaching a decision that will provide the greatest public benefit,” said Will Ris, American’s Senior Vice President – Government Affairs. “The Department has previously allowed other U.S. carriers to amend their service proposals in route cases awaiting DOT’s decision, and should do so here as well.”
